06 Feb 2005 – I was in my second year at IIT when I created my blog-site. It has survived so far! Here is my first blog-post.
After IIT, I did have a corporate life for a while. I was a management consultant in India.
But in mid 2012, I took a year long sabbatical to experiment with life. I have not needed to get back to the corporate world since then.
A lot of it has to do with luck. May be most of it. I am grateful for what the universe has let me have.
Around the same time that I moved on from my corporate life, I married my then girlfriend (we had been dating for two years). Few months later, we moved to Goa as an experiment. That experiment is ongoing.
In the early years (2012-2018) of my freelancer life, I was really big on wedding photography. I got to travel across India (and even outside) for shoots, gave motivational talks about it, and made enough money to live a comfortable life with annual foreign vacations. Then I got bored.
I now have a love-hate relationship with weddings. I am also glad that I don’t necessarily depend on it for money. I do end up shooting few weddings once in a while.
At present, I often feel like digging deep and writing on the following areas – politics, social behaviour, economics, privacy rights, AI, Indian agriculture sector, startups, the education system, evolution of social media, and some more. The list is growing. Basically, I am interested in everything! 😀
