The festival that I grew up to know as Makar Sankranti happened to be celebrated as Pongal when I went to IIT Madras. And this time, when in Ahmedabad on the 14th of Jan, I discovered yet another name for it – Uttarayana. On the day, Singa Patel invited me and most of us at office, to his house. He offered us live kite-flying demos. The rest of his lovely family offered us delicacies after delicacies. Never before had I seen the sky so full of kites. Never before had I known I sucked at flying kites. So I did what I do best. I took pictures. Hope you like the one below.
I never told you guys but one fine evening this month, while getting bored at the Delhi Airport, waiting for my Delhi-Bhubaneswar flight, I bought a Sony Walkman mp3 player. Believe me, this stuff is pretty cool (even if my appearance below makes it look like I have stolen the thing 😛 ). The head-phone itself is the mp3 player – that’s as light and as wireless an mp3 as you can get.
Talking about shopping, considering the lethal traffic of Amdavad, I also picked up a helmet few days back. Haven’t biked much though ever since I brought back my bike from Bhubaneswar – just 25k on two occasions. May I keep biking and may the helmet save me when I am hit. And before I end this post, one bad and one good news. The bad news is that the girl-friend lost her cell phone few days ago – I sincerely wish that she gets a new phone ASAP. The good news is that LoLy is coming to Amdavad the coming Friday – and this means that the coming weekend shall be spent at her home (not too far away from this city). Good life!
