Someone did defy convention!

LOL. Someone took this commercial too seriously, didn’t he? 😛 Reebok should seriously consider making the journo who threw shoes at Bush, their new Brand-Ambassador.

Wanna work on a marketing campaign?

I think it is a decent challenge to make a nice print-ad which serves the following two objectives:

 • Illegal logging and deforestation threatens people, wildlife, our economies and our climate.
 • Buying FSC-certified products will help protect forests around the world.

I am talking about a competition, in which some of you might be interested. It’s just that the competition does not need merely a print Ad (or two) from you but also a well-defined marketing “approach” for consumer-awareness for FSC-certified products. You basically have to tell them how exactly they should go about telling the world  – in general through whatever means of marketing – internet / videos /  anything – that using  FSC-certified products saves the environment and all that stuff.

If this much of info interests anyone, do download the 6 pages PDF from the link given in the above paragraph and read up the details. I wouldn’t mind collaborating with someone to come up with some powerful approach and theme for these people and then may be a Print Ad or two based on the same. Let me know if you have some crazy ideas.

You have time till Jan 13 – 2009 and the winner shall get half of the total prize money of 10,000 dollars (the other half goes to runner ups).

The second poster, the second edition and the second day

Proto.in poster 2

This is the second poster that I did for the second edition of proto.in, while attending the second day of podworks.in and gained half a k, thanks to Ravi Shankar. I also thank Ravi for giving me a great company today.

On the second day, though I didn’t feel like having the free breakfast, I compensated for it by devouring the free lunch. And of course I consumed plenty of coffee, which by the way was too sweet for me (didn’t I tell you I like coffee sugarless?).

Did I gain anything from the workshop?

Nothing significantly. But I had a nice time seeing so many people, talking, laughing, making faces and discussing blogging/podcasting. And like yesterday, one guy whom I had never seen before, generally looked at me and greeted, “hey Vatsap?”. I should have replied back “fresh…..” but I didn’t. I was nice enough to say a Hi. 😛 But this definitely made my day.

The most interesting thing that happened.

Someone finally asked for my visiting card! And guess who? Kiruba Shankar. Nice. And of course he gave his.

Did I make a podcast?

Yep. I do have a good podcast for you. Let me put that as a separate post (to make sure my post count is high :P)

Finished making this poster for proto.in yesterday. Ravi helped me find a suitable pic and also in providing valuable inputs.

Milky Bite

Came across this brilliant ad campaign! Ah, now I know why I grew up without ever being a champion. I never tried “good milk in cartons”. Damn me!
So the bottomline is, it is NOT enough if the milk is good. It also has to be in a carton! Or else you definitely do not stand any chance to qualify as a champion. And what do champions do by the way? Well, if the champion happens to be a school going kid, he empties the carton in the latest shining cup that he won, and then raises the cup a feet above his mouth to spill milk all over his face to show to the world what a champion he is. On the other hand, if the champion happens to be an actress, she sports a fake smile and conducts a survey on the number of ‘good people in world’ who use ‘good milk in cartons’.
On second thought, I guess I would prefer just growing up. I wish the same for the guys who came up with this wonderful ad. Champions, grow up!

Don’t Waste Food Campaign: 10

This cartoon is cute! Isn’t it? I think four posters in this series are enough. And I hope guys and girls following my blog will try not to waste food, the next time they take food. And to put it forward in one of those ‘filmy ishtyle‘, I would feel my job is done if my posters are able to change the wasting habit of even one student! 😛
