Delhi, Tie and Running

The air ride today was the bumpiest that I have ever had. It was raining neither in Bhuv when I left the city nor in Delhi when i reached here. So, it’s strange why the weather during the journey was bad enough to keep giving jerks every now and then.

I guess I never took an evening/night flight before. Delhi from up above looked awesome in the night. The zillions of lighted dots spread everywhere sparked like diamonds. Oh, what a beautiful sight it was. It was enchanting.

Achcha, did I tell you that I have started wearing a tie? It’s a red-brown 45 degrees stripes design. I got one for myself last Saturday and have been putting it on since Monday. Why? Generally. No one else in office wears one.  But I like it, so I wear.

It’s one in the morning. I plan to crash in another half an hour (or less), get up at 5:30, after four hours to say, and run till I find IIT Delhi’s entrance (guess it’s very close). Then I shall run inside. The idea is to see the campus (never been here before) and at the same time keep running for 1 hour (to ensure I cross 9k at least).

Small life. So many things to do. Daudna to padega. :)

I left office to reach guest house

I worked in office all day. I left office to reach the guest house. The only difference from regular days is that this guest house is in Delhi. The following was written as I was waiting in a departure lounge in Bhubaneswar airport a little more than two hours  back. I am in a taxi right now headed to the guest house that happens to be near IIT Delhi.

———————-

I shall be in reach Delhi tonight. I shall attend a Seminar tomorrow to know more about the sector that I am working on.

I wish that some value-ad happens tomorrow and I don’t have to feel that I wasted time and energy attending it. I wish that, even if the seminar happens to be a boring one (which in all likelihood, it shall be), tells me something new, something to carry back when I return on Sunday evening; something to share with my colleagues and my company, if not the rest of the world.

It’s been long since I last spent time with Neelabh. If everything goes fine, we might visit Nainital on Saturday. Just for an evening. I’ll try to do a 10K in Nainital. Running in a hill-station will be some experience (though I must say Lonavala was very close to being a hill-station).

Whether I run or not, we shall celebrate. Life. ABSOLUTely! :P

I just hope it helps

Dil Kahe Ke Aaj To Chupa Lo Tum Panahon Mein
Ke Daar Hai Tum Ko Kha Kho Doonga
Dil Kahe Sambhal Zara, Khushi Ko Na Nazar Laga
Ke Daar Hai Mein To Ro Doonga

It still is the song of the season. :) Life still goes on. I still run. MB still sucks.

Couple of criminals killed some Hindu Swami and his chelas in some village in Orissa day before yesterday. A bandh was declared yesterday. All of us wanted to go to office and work. We couldn’t. Even the court couldn’t run yesterday because the lawyers joined the bandh.

I read in newspapers that a Christian organization orphanage was torched and a woman burnt to death. Rumors were around that they were Christians who had shot the Swami. What a wonderful way of taking revenge! Even if the criminals really were Christians, shouldn’t the hatred be towards criminals rather than the orphans being raised by Christians? I wonder if there is any individual/entity that can match an emotionally agitated crowd, when it comes to stupidity. When stupidity turns into cruelity, it’s even worse.

All of us need to release energy when we are pissed off, when our heart aches. Crying is one way. Shouting is one way. Killing is another.

I stick to running. I just hope it helps.

On TV, books and my ONO girl

Raju Srivastav is as funny as ever. Did you guys see him do the Laloo-ban-gaya-Superman thingy? It’s so LOL max guys, it’s so friggin lol-max. Sushmita Sen’s face is more chubbier than it ever was. Airtel shamelessly copies Vodafone’s ad (except a minor replacement of bro-sis pair with a couple). The good thing is that both ads are good; make you smile. For strange reasons News channel discuss Saif and Kareena as a couple. Ah, so I have started watching TV.

I still don’t know which show comes on what channel, nor do I have any idea bout when comes what show. But yes, it’s not all that painful anymore, as it used to be some time back, to sit on the couch and stare at the idiot-box, as long as there are others around or as long as I have my laptop to play with.

TV isn’t the only thing by the way. Thanks  to Dk (colleague), I have a book to read too. An autobiography. Mr. Nice. Nice. So was SIK. Good entertainment. I laughed a lot. It was a nonsense movie nevertheless.

There was a time when I used to write sweet and cute poems. Then there came a time when I started writing sick and depressing poems. It’s been long since I wrote a poem. This one is for my ONO girl.

Hey Hi ONO girl, temme how you are.
Hey Hi ONO girl, you are so so far.
We chat and we talk, we say Hi and say ONO.
My sweet ONO girl, bus ab mil ek baar.

I don’t talk about the ’sparks’ anymore.
I act very normal, oh I am so sure.
But from deep within, haven’t you ever sensed
that I feel something, I never felt before?

Hey hi ONO girl, you are so so far!
My Santa Clause, oh yes you are.
Bring me gifts, bring me love, in December
It’s late, I should crash, ONO sarkaar!

Let me have a nice Sunday

This is for those who think it’s time a new Shitoon came up and those who have requested caricatures but haven’t yet received them. There is no photoshop on my company laptop. I must say that I don’t feel great about this fact. Let me see if I can get hold of a setup file from somewhere. Dellruba had it installed, but she is now with sis. Some computer shop, somewhere in this city, mastering in the art of pirated software sales should come to my rescue.

The New Marrion, a nice hotel in the city announces opening of a new restaurant in its lobby. I plan to check it out along with DK (she is my colleague here) for today’s lunch. To make more of a lazy Sunday, we might let Akshay Kumar (AK) torture us in Singh is Kingh (SIK). The only other movie that’s running in Bhuv is Bachna Ae Hasino, and I have been strictly adviced to avoid the movie at all costs, that too, twice; once from a girl in Mumbai (who had seen the premiere show) and then today from a girl from Mumbai (who saw the movie in US few days ago).

Although, I must admit, it was fun following the free publicity stunt of SIK on TV. First show AK wearing a turban with different kinds/cuts of beard in the promos, then attract attention of real Sikhs and then let News channels do annoying publicity for the movie. What a wonderful way to ensure that the opening of the movie rocks. This is such a routine trick, and it almost always works, at least as far as first week of collections go.

Talking about publicity stunts, I hate Mamata Bannerjee (MB). What she does, so irritates me. What has West Bengal done to deserve her?

Politicians! Raj Thackery does anti-Bihari stunts to put himself in limelight. MB does anti-industrialization stunt, invoking violence, letting people die, all to put herself and her party in limelight, all for the hope of getting few extra seats, whenever the next elections happen. Is shoving off TATA in any way good for WB?

Let me not get affected from these politicians and the kinds of strategies that they weave. Let me breathe in peace, for as long as I can. Let me have a nice Sunday.

Road Roaming in Puri

The moment I switched on the TV, I saw a girl from Bhubaneswar rocking on Boogie Woogie. Her dance performance was really good. Even the judges said so. It felt nice to see someone from Bhubaneswar on TV. I had just returned to Bhuv from Puri.

Puri. A one and a half hour bus journey, that started about twelve hours from now, transported me to this ancient town famous for the Jagannath Temple. I didn’t visit the temple. I did what I had done in Kolkata; walked without any destination in mind; walked without asking for directions. Yes, I did road-roaming.

To be frank, I kept walking towards East after getting down at bus-stand. So the road-roaming wasn’t really directionless. After about one hour, when the beach wasn’t yet anywhere in sight, I tried to move beyond the compass and asked a human being. I was given an overall direction. I tried following that. It started raining. I took shelter in a temple. For one whole hour. When the rains subsided, I continued my walk and finally hit the beach. Finally I knew why East-walking wasn’t helping me. The Puri beach was in the S-E direction.

My watch that has a compass was gifted to me by sishter and I love it. The same sishter that gave me this compass, took away my shades in Mumbai. I missed my shades today. Even without shades however, I did love being at the Puri beach, all alone, on a Saturdady afternoon that was just perfect.
